I need to update, but like, I don’t know how. So. I’m going to rant. Sorta xD A list of...Things I don’t like? Ehem. Though with a twist. These relate to ART 8D Ready? GO.
-I hate it when people call you arrogant for being good at what you do. I was at church last week, and there was a pot luck lunch, and my aunt wouldn’t eat what my mother brought because people said her food was good. How does this relate to art? I hate it when people look at an artist that’s obviously better than them, and they’re all “OMG, they’re being arrogant”. Hold on. WHAT? So they’re being arrogant for what they worked years and years for? They’re being arrogant for sharing their work? They’re being arrogant because YOU yourself acknowledge they’re good artist? This is a bunch of crud. I wish I had the courage to tell of this one girl for doing this to me back an elementary. Idiots D<
-I hate artists blatantly being arrogant. “I know I draw things perfectly”. What the heck. You’re NOT perfect. Even if you live to be trillion years old, you’ll never be perfect. Art is learning, and learning is a life-long process. If you really are a perfect artist, you must be god. Seeing you’re not, shut up. I like artists who ask for critique, and who acknowledge there’s room for improvement.
-I don’t like people blatantly stating a person sucks. That’s not nice. AT ALL D< Sure they may not be pro, but I but they’re better than YOU. And if they aren’t, shame on you. If you’re as pro as you say you are, then you of all people should know how hard it is to get to that stage. Bah. If you don’t like someone’s style, be mature and keep it to yourself. For example, Trigun is pretty awesome, but I personally don’t like the style. Doesn’t mean that people who draw in that style “suck”. I just don’t like the style. The artist is awesome, coloring, anatomy, I envy it. I just don’t like the style. Which brings me to another point. I hate people flaming you for opinions to being with. Let’s not get going on this topic. Respect people’s opinions. I’ve learned this the hard way. And...don’t say anyone sucks. No one’s perfect T^T
-I HATE art theft. By all things sane and holy. JUST. DON’T. DO. IT. References are ok. But when you go off and poorly trace a person’s piece of art, poorly color it, and then post it and say it’s yours, You’re a complete idiot. First and foremost, it takes a HECK load of work getting pro. Heck it’s pretty hard getting GOOD. Stealing is disrespectful, uncreative, and you’re just being a Butt. DON’T. FREAKIN’ DO IT. You want to draw your characters, SIT DOWN, TAKE A PIECE OF PAPER, AND DRAW. LEARN. DO SOMETHING. WORK YOUR BUTTS OFF LIKE THE ARTIST YOU STOLE FROM. You’ll be happy. Trust me. <3
-I hate it when people accuse you of Stealing POSES. That’s like saying my dog is stealing the way I breath. YOU CAN’T STEAL POSES, BAH. Unless it’s Blatantly a piece of art theft, if someone’s princess and another person’s lady assassin, in separate pieces, happen to both be hugging their husbands, it’s NOT pose theft. In fact, it’s stupid to think so. Don’t get me started. Some people. -_-;;
-And my final most important point. I dislike character/anime-obsession. xD NOW BEFORE YOU CALL ME A HYPOCRITE NO I DON’T MEAN I HATE PEOPLE OBSESSING OVER ANIME OR CHARACTERS. Look, I’m an ESL [English second language person], I don’t know how to word this. Obsession is a GOOD thing. HECK I DROOL OVER SOME CHARACTERS. FF, FE, KH, DN...BEAUTIFUL BOYS OMG...but what I dislike is when people start pairing OC’s with game characters, calling themselves Sasuke....just overdoing. Bah. But that’s not the WHOLE point.
How do we pair this with Art? I dislike it when people find an epicly well done piece of art, and then base their OWN characters off of that art. I disagree with it. Absolutely. The character belongs to the ARTIST. How the heck is it YOUR character? Sure it looks like your character, BUT IT’S NOT. Sadly, I don’t like it when people manipulate their characters out of Anime pictures >: . I won’t flame you for this, but seriously, think about it. Usually an artist spends HOURS on a piece. Even if they’ll never know what you did, I find it disrespectful. Seriously, you’ll spend 4 hours on a manipulation at most, but the artist of that piece might have spend DAYS linearting, DAYS coloring, DAYS perfecting it, and you go off and change the hair color to vivid GREEN because it LOOKS like your Mary McSueykins.
